Player of the Month: April nominees

2 May 2018

The April nominations for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award are:

Nathan Delfouneso (Blackpool)

Five goals in as many games as Blackpool earned 13 points and scored 14 goals in those fixtures. He began his month with a hat-trick against Bradford and ended it with the equaliser against Shrewsbury.

Will Grigg (Wigan Athletic)

Six goals and an assist in eight April games for the prolific Northern Irishman. He did it all - nipping in for a header at Portsmouth, running in behind, as he did in his hat-trick against MK Dons and sliding home a late winner over Oxford.

Rory McArdle (Scunthorpe United)

The Scunthorpe skipper and defensive lynchpin led by example and instruction as his side conceded just a solitary goal in four April games. He even found the time to venture forward for a sweetly timed header against MK Dons.

Duckens Nazon (Oldham Athletic)

Four goals in eight April games might not seem a prolific return until you realise that Oldham only scored six all month and might have already been relegated were it not for Nazon’s pace, clever movement, energy and finishing ability.

The winner will be announced on Friday 4th May.

The judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ EFL League expert Don Goodman; EFL Marketing Director Drew Barrand, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL Trader Mikey Mumford.
