The first match of the 2017/18 EFL Play-Offs was settled by a second-half Jon Nolan wonder-strike as Shrewsbury Town ran out 1-0 winners over their hosts, Charlton Athletic.
In a cagey affair at The Valley, both sides had opportunities in the first half but were unable to take advantage of them in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
After the break though, Salop looked to be in the ascendency but were once again found wanting in front of goal.
That was until a cushioned header from Stefan Payne set Jon Nolan up on the edge of the box. He had plenty of work to do, but a demonstration of phenomenal technique saw him strike the ball off the under side of the crossbar and into the net – cue the celebrations in the away end.
