Manager of the Month: February nominees

6 March 2018

The February nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award are:

John Coleman (Accrington Stanley)

Stanley were fifth when February began, jostling for position in the play-off places. A stellar month of performances under Coleman’s wily guidance later, and 16 points for a possible 18 lifted them into second, within three points of leaders Luton.

Mark Cooper (Forest Green Rovers)

Intelligent acquisition during the transfer window was matched by a consequent improvement in results with 10 points gained from four unbeaten February games, which moved his side six points clear of the relegation places.

Joe Dunne (Cambridge United)

Put in temporary charge following the dismissal of Shaun Derry, Dunne reinvigorated both his club and his players. By encouraging them to play with freedom and without fear, he led them to three wins from four games.

Steve Evans (Mansfield Town)

A second successive nomination for the departing Stags manager as his side kept up their promotion push. A haul of ten points from five games was built on a solid defence and clinical finishing, notably in the 5-0 triumph over Newport.

The winner will be announced on Friday 9th March.

The judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ EFL League expert Don Goodman; EFL Marketing Director Drew Barrand, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL Trader Mikey Mumford.
