Peterborough United: Steve Evans appointed as new Posh manager

28 February 2018

Peterborough United have confirmed the appointment of Steve Evans, replacing Grant McCann, who was sacked late on Sunday evening.

On Tuesday, Evans and his assistant Paul Raynor resigned from their role at League Two promotion chasers Mansfield Town, before Posh confirmed their arrival on Wednesday lunchtime.

Chairman Darragh MacAnthony said in a club statement: “As soon as somebody of the calibre of Steve Evans called to register their interest in the vacant position, there was no time to waste.

“He is a serial promotion winner, including promotion from League One, has managed multiple clubs in the Championship and has an incredible reputation.”

Peterborough are currently eighth in Sky Bet League One, three points adrift of the top six, and with a game in hand.
