Barnsley: Jose Morais announced as club’s new Head Coach

Barnsley have announced Jose Morais as their new head coach, replacing Paul Heckingbottom following his departure to Leeds Uniteearlier this month.

Morais, who hails from Portugal, arrives at Oakwell with an impressive CV and a medal-filled mantelpiece after working alongside the likes of Jose Mourinho during his coaching career.

The 52-year-old has enjoyed successful spells under the Manchester United manager while at Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Chelsea. He has been the main man too, impressing at ES Tunis, Al-Shabab, Antalyaspor and AEK Athens in Greece.

His first test will come this Tuesday, when the Tykes host the Sky Bet Championship’s bottom side, Burton Albion.
