From Kuala Lumpur to Meadow Lane, for one fan and his son, last weekend’s EFL action marked a special occasion for the pair.
Russ Moore, a lifetime Notts County supporter and former season ticket holder for 23 years, now lives in Malaysia after moving in 2009, and relies on the EFL’s iFollow platform to continually monitor the progress of his beloved Magpies.
After entering a competition through the hashtag #iFollowEFL, celebrating the EFL’s global fan base and the launch of iFollow ahead of the first weekend of the season, Russ and his son were rewarded with a special trip to visit the Club and watch Kevin Nolan’s side in action during their Good Friday fixture against Wycombe Wanderers.
6,570 miles later, Russ touched down on UK soil, and we were there to capture their entire day – from a meet and greet with players and staff alike, to four-year old Torben walking out with the team as a mascot.
Even a 0-0 draw couldn’t dampen the spirits of a wonderful day for both, as the EFL recognise and celebrate our overseas fans who are able to stay better connected than ever due to the iFollow platform.
Moore said: “We had a fantastic day and it has been an amazing experience. A huge thanks to the EFL and we’re both looking forward to following the rest of the season on iFollow.”
