Accrington Stanley: Club wrap up title on home soil

28 April 2018

Accrington Stanley have been crowned champions of Sky Bet League Two, courtesy of a 1-0 win over Lincoln City.

Stanley could have clinched the crown at Newport County in midweek, although they slipped to a 2-1 defeat which ended their 15-game unbeaten run.

It was back to business on Saturday though, and Jordan Clark’s goal before the break sealed victory at the Wham Stadium.

League Two Player of the Season Billy Kee’s saw a penalty saved but John Coleman’s side were not to be denied, with the victory leaving them six points clear with one game to play.
