Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has been named the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for August.
Warnock said: “This is an achievement for all of us at the club, from the top to the bottom. We’ve made some good signings and integrated them quickly into the group, which isn’t always easy. I’m delighted with the award - for the whole club and our fantastic fans.”
George Burley chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel, and said: “Neil has got Cardiff City off to a flying start to the season having won all of their league games so far. They had an impressive away win against Wolves who have splashed out a lot of money during the summer. With Neil’s experience and record of getting teams up, Cardiff must be a genuine contender for promotion this season.
Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “With a 100 per cent win record club for August you cannot fault Neil Warnock and his Cardiff City side. Warnock is a proven figure at this level and his handling of summer capture Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who he picked up on a free from Rochdale, has breathed a new lease of life into a Cardiff side which finished 12th last term.”
