Player of the Month: September nominees

2 October 2017

The September nominees for Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month are:

Shaquile Coulthirst (Barnet)

After six loan moves in four seasons, the 22-year-old has finally found a club to love him. Direct and confident, he responded in kind in September with six goals and two assists, including a first EFL hat-trick in the 4-1 win at Swindon.

Uche Ikpeazu (Cambridge United)

Having grown into his imposing body, Ikpeazu’s physicality is terrifying League Two defences this season. Strong in the air, able to hold the ball up or run at defenders, his influence last month extended beyond his four goals and one assist.

Billy Kee (Accrington Stanley)

Five goals in seven games for the Northern Irishman is impressive enough and then you add in the superb control and finish he demonstrated against Chesterfield. What really stands out is that his goals either equalised or put Stanley ahead.

Joe Martin (Stevenage)

It is not so much what Martin contributed at the back in September, although he was his usual dependable self, but rather the quality and stunning accuracy of his free-kicks at Cheltenham and Swindon which won him a nomination.

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL trader Mikey Mumford.

The winner will be announced on Friday 6th October 2017.
