The Sky Bet Championship’s race for promotion is the focal point of Sky Sports’ EFL festive coverage with 10 mouth-watering fixtures set to be screened exclusively live throughout December and early January 2018.
Current league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers will kick off the run of televised Christmas matches when they travel to Sheffield Wednesday's Hillsborough on Friday 15th December at 7:45pm. Cardiff City will host Hull City in the 5:30pm kick-off on Saturday 16th.
Christmas weekend promises to be a cracker with Aston Villa welcoming Sheffield United to Villa Park on Saturday 23rd in a 5:30pm kick-off. On Boxing Day, Burton Albion face Thomas Christiansen’s Leeds United — who currently sit just outside the top six — at 3pm, before Brentford finish off the festivities by hosting Steve Bruce’s Villans at 7.30pm.
Two of the current top four clash at Ashton Gate to round off the calendar year, with Bristol City and Wolverhampton Wanderers facing off in a 5:30pm kick-off on Saturday 30th, whilst Friday night football returns to Cardiff a day prior when they welcome Preston North End at 7:45pm on 29th December.
Leeds United and Nottingham Forest will make the first appearance of 2018 in front of the Sky cameras when they meet at Elland Road on New Year’s Day at 3pm.
Later in the month, Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United, whose positive start sees them sitting in third position, continue their quest for back-to-back promotions — their Steel City derby clash with Sheffield Wednesday will be broadcast live to Sky Sports viewers at 7:45pm on Friday 12th January.
The following day, Villa will travel to Nottingham Forest’s City Ground for a Saturday evening meeting at 5:30pm.
Throughout the course of the 2017/18 season, Sky Sports will exclusively show 127 live matches from the Sky Bet EFL season - including the Play-Offs - as well as 15 matches from the Carabao Cup and at least three from the Checkatrade Trophy.

- 20th January to 3rd February by 8th December
- 10th February to 3rd March by 29th December
- 10th March to 31st March by 19th January
- From 23rd February, a minimum five-week rolling selection commences for matches up to and including the penultimate weekend
- Clubs notified of selections for the final day following the completion of the penultimate round of matches
