The Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month nominees for October are...
Sammy Ameobi (Bolton Wanderers)
Staged his own goal of the month competition with two glorious strikes among his three goals as he sparked Bolton’s revival. Prepared to run at and take on defenders, his efforts against Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland were simply stunning.
Leo Bonatini (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
Scored in every Championship outing in the month. The Brazilian’s five goals in four games have been due reward for his intelligent link-up play with Diogo Jota and Ivan Cavaleiro and his natural ability to create space for himself in the box.
Lewis Grabban (Sunderland)
Sunderland’s continuing struggles in October certainly couldn’t be blamed on Grabban, whose determination saw him score five of his side’s seven goals - and in just three-and-a-half games - with braces in the 3-3 draws against Brentford and Bolton.
Richard Keogh (Derby County)
Outstanding in the East Midlands derby win over Nottingham Forest and cool-headed leader of a defence which conceded just two goals in four games, the Derby captain was outstanding throughout the club's perfect October.
The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL Trader Mikey Mumford.
