October: Player of the Month nominees

7 November 2017

The Sky Bet League One Player of the Month nominees for October are...

Ben Amos (Charlton Athletic)

The last line of a defence which conceded just one goal in four games as Charlton moved towards the automatic promotion places. Dependable all month, he produced a breathtaking display of shot-stopping in the 1-0 victory at Bradford.

Graham Carey (Plymouth Argyle)

Did it all in October to drag Argyle out of their early-season slump. Either set up or scored all of his side’s five goals. Added to spectacular strikes against Shrewsbury and Blackburn were delightful crosses and superb jinking runs among his three assists.

Bradley Dack (Blackburn Rovers)

Back to his Gillingham form of 2015-16, the 23-year-old is revelling in his role behind lone striker Danny Graham. Difficult to stop because of his ability with either foot, he scored the opening goal in three successive home games.

Erhun Oztumer (Walsall)

Another month of highlights from the Turkish Messi whose superb free-kick against Blackpool was matched by the close control and calmness of his two finishes at Doncaster, accounting for half of his side’s six goals in October.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL Trader Mikey Mumford.
