October's Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month nominees are...
Paul Cook (Wigan Athletic)
Led his side through an unbeaten October, collecting 11 points from 15 along the way. Allied to their attractive passing style, the away wins at Scunthorpe and Blackpool also demonstrated his team’s willingness to battle.
Steve Lovell (Gillingham)
When Gillingham turned to Lovell on 12th October, they had seven points from 12 games. The caretaker’s impact was so dramatic, it only took him four games to match that tally, gaining away wins at Peterborough and Rotherham in the process.
Karl Robinson (Charlton Athletic)
Has brought stability, organisation and hope to replace the chaos of recent seasons at The Valley. Three wins and a draw gave Charlton 10 points from four games which included three clean sheets and just one goal conceded.
Richie Wellens (Oldham Athletic)
A stop-gap caretaker-manager in September, Wellens continued to impress in October, inspiring his team to eight points from five games, lifting them out of the relegation zone and earning himself the job on a permanent basis.
The judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ EFL League expert Don Goodman; EFL Marketing Director Drew Barrand, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL Trader Mikey Mumford.
