Gillingham chairman Paul Scally has confirmed that Steve Lovell will take charge of the Gills for the remainder of the 2017/18 season.
Lovell was put in caretaker charge following the dismissal of Ady Pennock and has since racked up four wins from seven games, losing just once, and earning a nomination for the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month award.
The 57-year-old said: “I’m chuffed to bits. I’m delighted it’s happened and I’m just looking forward to the challenge ahead. I know now I can look forward to January and perhaps getting players in to boost the squad ready for the next year.
“I will enjoy it, embrace it and I’ll give it 100 per cent, and hopefully that will be good enough to move us up the league.”
