EFL Remembers: 72 clubs to pay tribute to the fallen

4 November 2017

Next weekend’s televised South Yorkshire derby between Doncaster Rovers and Rotherham United on Sky Sports will mark the start of all Sky Bet League One and Two clubs paying their respects on Remembrance Weekend with tributes to the fallen.

League One and League Two clubs will honour those that lost their lives at war over the weekend of 11th and 12th November, whilst the 24 Sky Bet Championship teams will pay their respects over a three-week period either side of the international break, starting with this weekend’s round of fixtures.

Across all of the 72 member clubs, there will be a minute’s silence prior to kick-off to remember and to honour all of those that have fallen in battle.

Sky Bet, the title sponsor of the EFL, will be auctioning match-worn poppy shirts for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, with over £300,000 raised in previous campaigns.

They will also be donating hundreds of tickets for EFL fixtures across the Remembrance period, to current servicemen and women operating in the UK.
