Rory McArdle scored the only goal of the Sky Bet League One Play-Off semi-final first legs, with Bradford City taking an advantage against Fleetwood Town. The big defender was the man for the big moment as he powerfully found the net with his head from a Tony McMahon corner after 77 minutes of what was a tight first leg at Valley Parade.
Bradford will take that narrow advantage to Fleetwood’s Highbury Stadium for the return leg on Sunday at 6.30pm.
In the other semi-final first leg, Millwall and Scunthorpe United played out a goalless draw at The Den.
It was a scrappy match which featured few chances, but Lee Gregory had the best opportunity for the hosting Lions midway through the first half when he found himself one-on-one with Joe Anyon, only to be denied by the Iron goalkeeper.
That means it’s all to play for in the second leg at Glanford Park on Sunday, ahead of the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final at Wembley on Saturday 20th May.
