The nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for February 2017.
Adebayo Akinfenwa (Wycombe Wanderers)We know all about his heading ability and hold-up play, but among his five goals in February was an impudent backheel against Crawley. Scoring all but one of Wycombe’s goals in the month demonstrated his importance to the team.
Matt Clarke (Portsmouth)
The 20-year-old excelled in February, making a vital contribution to Portsmouth’s record of conceding just three goals in six games. Strong in the tackle, comfortable in possession, he ventured forward to head home against Accrington.
Matt Godden (Stevenage)
Six goals in six games for the bustling centre forward whose all-action style harries defenders into mistakes and demonstrates his commitment. His two late goals at Crawley secured a come-from-behind win for promotion-chasing Stevenage.
Matty Kennedy (Plymouth Argyle)
The 22-year-old made quite an impact in Devon after arriving on loan from Cardiff. Easy in possession and willing to take on defenders, his three goals to add to an assist included fine solo efforts against Leyton Orient and Hartlepool.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
