Checkatrade Trophy Final: Natalie Rushdie to perform at Wembley

23 March 2017

Natalie Rushdie will sing the national anthem prior to the 2017 Checkatrade Trophy Final between Coventry City and Oxford United.

With almost 70,000 tickets sold for the Wembley final, and with Sky Sports screening the showpiece live, Rushdie's voice will be heard worldwide before the teams go head-to-head.

The performance will see the London-based singer return to the national stadium for a fifth time, having previously performed the ceremonial duties in this competition ahead of the 2013 final, as well as before the Championship Play-Off Final and Rugby League's Challenge Cup Final.

The renowned Classical performer has toured the country with Classic BRIT Award winners BLAKE, and last summer she joined HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Charity work is held close to Rushdie's heart and she dedicates much of her time to the NHS charity, Breathe Arts Health Research, of which she is Patron and performs regularly to staff and patients in London.
