On Wednesday morning, the fixtures for the 2017/18 season were released, giving supporters the opportunity to see their club’s schedule and start planning for the campaign ahead.
But which games stood out as the most eagerly anticipated? We put that question to the fans and, unsurprisingly, derby days were the most common response.
One of those was a renewed rivalry back on the calendar after a one-season break, Crewe Alexandra versus Port Vale.
The most common response came from supporters in Sheffield, who clearly can’t wait for the Steel City derby’s return. Five-and-a-half years on from their last league meeting, United and Wednesday will finally lock horns again.

Portsmouth, promoted as Sky Bet League Two champions, are a club in demand. A landmark occasion, a chance to get one over the other half, just a good away day… all reasons why Pompey were named as a fixture to look forward to.

A trip to the seaside in good weather is always appreciated, and Milton Keynes Dons are one of the lucky ones, heading to Blackpool for their first away game. Enjoy, Ben…

Last but not least, Wycombe Wanderers fan Hayden Williams. He just can’t wait for the season to get started. We hear you, Hayden!
