This week saw a number of players return to a former employer with comings and goings heating up as the majority of EFL clubs kicked off pre-season training.
One of those was Jake Buxton, who has linked back up with Nigel Clough, a manager who previously signed him for Burton Albion and Derby County. The defender first joined the Brewers prior to the 2008/09 season, and he's now back at the Pirelli Stadium ahead of 2017/18, arriving from Wigan. Another player swapping the Latics for Burton is experienced full-back Stephen Warnock.
Dean Moxey has also re-joined a former club, having signed for Exeter City, a club he originally left in 2009.
Like Moxey, Garry Thompson will also be in Sky Bet League Two this coming season, after joining Morecambe. The veteran forward was released by Wycombe Wanderers but has returned to the Shrimps, which is where he started his career.
Thanks for all the messages 🙌🏼Absolutely delighted to be back @ShrimpsOfficial can't wait to get started #I'mBack #7 #Shrimps #⚽️

Gregg Wylde's stint away from Plymouth Argyle wasn't as long, though, as the winger re-signed for the Sky Bet League One-bound club just a year after departing for Millwall.
And there was more good news for the Pilgrims this week with talisman Graham Carey putting pen to paper on a new deal.

Another player on his way to Sky Bet League One is forward Shay McCartan, who has been snapped up by Bradford City from Accrington Stanley for an undisclosed six-figure fee. The Bantams also signed striker Dom Poleon from AFC Wimbledon this week.
“I am looking forward to a new challenge and it will be exciting to play in League One,” McCartan told accringtonstanley.co.uk.
“I am sorry to leave Accrington, I have had a great four years here. I have loved my time here and they gave me a chance when I was released from Burnley when no one else wanted me.”
