The Carabao Cup Round One Draw has taken place, with 35 ties to look forward to during the week commencing 7th August 2017.
EFL managers and players were watching on to see who their club would be facing in what will be the second game of the 2017/18 campaign, and now the planning can begin.
One of those looking ahead to their Round One tie is Swindon Town boss David Flitcroft, who will take the recently-relegated Robins to Sky Bet Championship outfit Norwich City.
It's a tough test for the Sky Bet League Two side but it's one the new boss is relishing, and he's looking forward to taking on Norwich City's new head coach Daniel Farke, who will be managing in the competition for the first time.
“I’ll be expressing to these players how lucky they are to be playing for Swindon Town and going to represent the club at such a fantastic stadium,” Flitcroft told the club's official website.
“I’ll be going up against a manager who I’ve not played against and we’ll be able to do our work on them in pre-season, but we’ll look forward to it like every opportunity.”
With the draw regionalised to minimise travelling for away fans, Preston North End were drawn against Accrington Stanley – around a half-hour drive on the M65.
Lilywhites' boss Simon Grayson won't be taking things lightly, despite his side being two divisions higher than their hosts.
He told pnefc.net: “It can be vital for momentum at the start of the season... so we will treat it with a huge amount of respect.
“I like this competition, I won it as a player so I know what it means to be on a winning side and I know what it means to clubs and the supporters.”
For many players in the EFL, a cup draw can give an opportunity for a player to return to a former club, and that's the case for Colchester United's Lewis Kinsella.
The Essex side travel to Aston Villa, where the full-back spent five years before moving to the U's last summer.
Wycombe Wanderers face Fulham in Round One, and the pairing brought back memories of 2006, when they upset the Cottagers in this very competition, before going on to reach the semi-finals.
And talking of good memories...
Portsmouth and Cardiff City will meet in a cup competition for the first time since 2008, and that's a day that Pompey will never forget.
