Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month nominations - December 2016

3 January 2017

The nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for December 2016.

Nicky Adams (Carlisle United)

Last season’s Sky Bet League Two assists king is at it again. The Carlisle players now have full confidence in his delivery from wide positions. Four of his side’s seven goals in the month came from his through-balls and pinpoint crosses.

Scott Kashket (Wycombe Wanderers)

Unwanted by Leyton Orient, the 20-year-old has been converted from winger to striker by Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth and is proving his worth every match. A natural finisher, he scored in each of his side’s four December games.

Oscar Threlkeld (Plymouth Argyle)

Found himself thrust into an unfamiliar left-back role because of injuries and adapted superbly as Argyle kept three clean sheets in four games. His infectious running was seen in midfield against Crawley Town when he scored the goal that took Plymouth top.

Ollie Watkins (Exeter City)

Five goals in four games for the 21-year-old included a hat-trick in the 4-1 New Year’s Eve win at Newport County. What makes the feat even more impressive is that he spent most of December playing in a slightly deeper role, breaking from midfield.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
