Sky Bet EFL: Team of the Week

30 January 2017

It's time once again for the EFL Team of the Week in association with FIFA 17 Ultimate Team.

We've picked out a selection of players and a manager who impressed during the weekend's reduced EFL schedule…

Scott Brown (Cheltenham Town) >> FIFA 17 Ultimate Team™ Database

Brown performed heroics for Cheltenham to earn a point away at Crewe Alexandra.

The hosts gave it their all as they looked for a first win under new boss David Artell, but the Robins keeper was in outstanding form all afternoon.

Haydn Hollis (Notts County) >> FIFA 17 Ultimate Team™ Database

Employed as an emergency left-back, Hollis delivered a sound defensive performance to help Notts County finally end their 13-match winless run.

And it was the defender who set up the winner, when his effort was parried into the path of Jonathan Forte.

Jordan Moore-Taylor (Exeter City) >> FIFA 17 Ultimate Team™ Database

Exeter made it five straight wins, 10 games unbeaten and eight clean sheets in that period with a 1-0 win at Portsmouth.

The Grecians' defence was outstanding throughout, with Moore-Taylor superbly nullifying the Pompey threat.

Great result yesterday! Good to keep our run going, on to Tuesday now another big game ⚽️ #ecfchttps://t.co/HRqovDu673

Angus MacDonald (Barnsley) >> FIFA 17 Ultimate Team™ Database

Barnsley made it consecutive Yorkshire derby victories after edging past Rotherham United one week after seeing off Leeds United.

It's been a period of change for the Tykes this month, but MacDonald made light of that, starring as they picked up a 1-0 win on the road.

Jason McCarthy (Walsall) >> FIFA 17 Ultimate Team™ Database

It wasn't quite the perfect afternoon for Walsall, who were denied maximum points by a last-gasp equaliser away at Bury.

However, McCarthy showed his prowess at the other end, hitting two goals for the Saddlers in the 3-3 draw.

Jake Forster-Caskey (Charlton Athletic) >> FIFA 17 Ultimate Team™ Database

Forster-Caskey had a debut to remember as Charlton overcame the odds to record a 2-1 triumph at Bolton Wanderers.

A man down and a goal down, the midfielder took the game by the scruff of the neck, setting up goals for Patrick Bauer and Nathan Byrne as the Addicks completed a stunning comeback.

Ben Whiteman (Mansfield Town) >> FIFA 17 Ultimate Team™ Database

Whiteman scored one and made the other as Mansfield continued their impressive form in Sky Bet League Two.

The midfielder lashed home a fine effort when a clearance fell into his path, before his teasing low cross was turned in by Danny Rose just moments later.

Chuks Aneke (Milton Keynes Dons) >> FIFA 17 Ultimate Team™ Database

Aneke netted a second successive brace, following up his two-goal haul against Northampton Town with a couple more in the 4-0 rout of Peterborough United.

The 23-year-old had already teed up Kieran Agard's opener before taking centre stage himself, including netting the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Weekend.

Isaac Vassell (Luton Town) >> FIFA 17 Ultimate Team™ Database

With talisman Danny Hylton suspended, Isaac Vassell stepped up to the plate as Luton defeated Cambridge United 2-0.

The lively forward finished off a blistering counter attack for his opener, and then won a penalty after a driving run into the box, which was converted by Jordan Cook.

Keshi Anderson (Northampton Town)

A home debut to remember for Anderson, who helped himself to a hat-trick in Northampton's victory over Coventry City.

The goals all came in the second half, showing his finishing prowess to end the Cobblers' run of five straight losses.

John Marquis (Doncaster Rovers) >> FIFA 17 Ultimate Team™ Database

It's six goals in four games for Marquis after he fired Sky Bet League Two leaders Doncaster to a fifth consecutive victory.

A neat finish was followed by a fine solo goal as Rovers eased to a 3-0 win at Yeovil Town.

Graham Westley (Newport County)

Westley has been a busy man in the January transfer window will 11 signings to date, and nine of those featured in the 3-1 win over Hartlepool United to help end a run of 10 winless matches.

Debutant Ryan Bird was among those to impress, scoring one and creating another to bring the Exiles closer to Sky Bet LeagueLeague Two safety.
