EFL: Eight wins in 10 - Doncaster Rovers lead the form table

26 January 2017

Doncaster Rovers are not only top of the standings in Sky Bet League Two, they also lead the way in the EFL form table.

Rovers have won eight, drawn one and lost one of their last 10 fixtures, picking up an average of 2.5 points per game and building up a healthy four-point lead at the top of the division.

Three more Sky Bet League Two sides feature in the top five, with Wycombe Wanderers picking up 2.4 PPG, and Exeter City and Colchester United (both 2.3 PPG) also in fine form as they rise up the league.

The Chairboys are one of two clubs, the other being Fleetwood Town, not to lose during that period, winning seven and drawing three of their matches. The Cod Army have won their last five on the spin to climb to fourth in Sky Bet League One, and defeated league leaders Sheffield United last time out.

At the opposite end are Notts County, who, along with Coventry City, have failed to taste success in any of their 10 most recent outings.

The Magpies currently sit 23rd in Sky Bet League Two having lost nine of those fixtures, while Bristol City have also fallen to defeat in nine of their last 10, although a lone win over Ipswich Town sees them above the Sky Blues (D2, L8).

Elsewhere, Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle share the exact same record to tie for 27th place. Both sides have conceded 14, scored 15, and gained 16 points, despite the fact that the Pilgrims have won one extra game during that spell.
