The latest round of live TV fixtures has been revealed today, with four EFL games selected to appear live on Sky Sports across March and early April.Today’s announcement is the first since the EFL and Sky moved to the rolling five-week minimum commitment as we approach the business end of the season. Further fixtures for later in April will be announced as they are confirmed.
TV Games: A full list of EFL fixtures selected for Sky Sports coverage
It’s a Friday night fixture up first, with Ian Holloway’s QPR side making the trip north to take on Steve McClaren’s Derby County in the East Midlands at 7:45pm on Friday 31st March.
The winners of that match will be able to sit back and enjoy the rest of the footballing weekend, starting with a Saturday night clash at the Madejski Stadium as promotion rivals Reading and Leeds United go head-to-head on Saturday 1st April in a tantalising 5:30pm kick-off.
There is then another burst of two EFL games in two days. Firstly, an all-Yorkshire clash between Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday 4th April, before Norwich City’s crucial clash with Huddersfield Town is broadcast live from the John Smith’s Stadium on Wednesday 5th April.
Further fixtures will be announced on a rolling basis between now and the end of the season.
The EFL has made a joint commitment with broadcast partner Sky to ensure all clubs and supporters are given a minimum of five weeks’ notice ahead of any matches being rescheduled for live television coverage.
The advanced notice is designed to provide supporters with as much time as possible to allow for any alterations to travel plans that may be required.
The confirmed list of games selected for live coverage are as follows:
Fri 31st Mar: Derby County v Queens Park Rangers (7:45pm)
Sat 1st Apr: Reading v Leeds United (5:30pm)
Tue 4th Apr: Rotherham United v Sheffield Wednesday (7:45pm)
Wed 5th Apr: Huddersfield Town v Norwich City Kick-off (7:45pm)
Remaining TV Selection Dates 2016/17 (Illustrative but subject to a five-week minimum notice commitment)
- A five-week rolling selection process is now underway for matches up to and including the penultimate weekend;
- Clubs notified of selections for the final day made following the completion of the penultimate round of matches.
