The TV schedule for the Carabao Cup Semi-Finals has been confirmed, with Bristol City’s first-leg tie away at Manchester City the first to be screened live on Sky Sports on Tuesday 9th January.
Chelsea’s clash with Arsenal will then follow up 24 hours later at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday 10th January.
The second legs will take place a fortnight later, with Bristol City welcoming Manchester City to Ashton Gate on Tuesday 23rd January and Arsenal hosting Chelsea at the Emirates on Wednesday 24th January.
All four Semi-Final matches will be broadcast live on Sky.
Carabao Cup Semi-Final - first leg ties:
Tuesday 9th January: Manchester City v Bristol City (7:45pm)
Wednesday 10th January: Chelsea v Arsenal (8pm)
Carabao Cup Semi-Final - second leg ties:
Tuesday 23rd January: Bristol City v Manchester City (7:45pm)
Wednesday 24th January: Arsenal v Chelsea (8pm)
Both legs of the Semi-Final tie between Arsenal and Chelsea will, for the first time in EFL competition, involve the use of video assistant referees (VAR) alongside the Final at Wembley on Sunday 25th February after the League committed to support English football’s contribution to the live trial currently taking place across world football.
The inclusion of the VAR technology in the latter stages of this season’s competition means that the Carabao Cup will play host to some of the most high-profile matches to date in the trial introduced in 2016 by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).
