With the 2017/18 Sky Bet EFL season kicking off on Friday evening the EFL has launched a social media campaign to celebrate the global fan-base following EFL clubs week in and week out.
Fans visiting EFL.com/iFollowEFL have the opportunity to choose their club, tag their location wherever they are in the world and upload an image showing their support for their club. Fans will also have the opportunity to share their image across Facebook and Twitter under the hashtag #iFollowEFL. Fans taking part and showing their club colours before 4th September will be entered into a draw to win tickets to one of their club’s home games this season, travel and two night’s accommodation, a Mitre Delta Replica EFL Football and a copy of FIFA18 Icon Addition courtesy of EA Sports, who were recently announced as an Official Partner of the EFL and the first sponsor of the ground-breaking new digital streaming service, iFollow.
It is hoped that the campaign will celebrate the truly global nature of the EFL and the support EFL clubs receive both at home and overseas. The 2017/18 season will see the EFL broadcast or streamed into 166 countries with a reach of almost 614 million households across Asia, Africa, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Oceania; reinforcing the EFL’s reputation as one of the most watched competitions in world football. In addition, the opening weekend of the season marks the first Sky Bet EFL fixtures to be live streamed on the EFL’s new digital platform, iFollow, which is set to revolutionise the way football fans overseas can follow their clubs.
