Ups and downs: EFL State of Play - matchday permutations

4 April 2017

The finishing line of the 2016/17 season is in sight, and it's time to start looking at the potential ups and downs across the three EFL divisions.

While another crucial round of Sky Bet Championship fixtures takes place in midweek, nothing can be decided across Tuesday or Wednesday. That's not the case in Sky Bet League One, however...

Relegated: Rotherham United

Sheffield United can seal promotion from Sky Bet League One on Wednesday night, with the priority picking up three points against rock-bottom Coventry City.

If the Blades are triumphant, then the focus will turn to the Kassam Stadium, where Oxford United and Fleetwood Town meet.

Should the Cod Army be defeated, then Chris Wilder will secure his second successive promotion, and the South Yorkshire club will return to the Sky Bet Championship for the first time since 2010/11.
