The nominations for the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month award for August 2016.
Graham Alexander (Scunthorpe United)It is testimony to the belief Alexander has instilled in north Lincolnshire that the summer break failed to slow the momentum with which his side finished last season as they claimed 10 points from five games, scoring 13 goals in the process.
Justin Edinburgh (Gillingham)
Edinburgh ensured there was no hangover from last season’s late dip by spreading positivity through his players and inspiring a vibrant start to this campaign. Ten points from five games moved Gillingham into the Play-Off places once again.
Stuart McCall (Bradford City)
Taking over a settled and successful side can be difficult but McCall has brought an instant attacking spark to Bradford. His team’s unbeaten start, collecting 11 points from five games, was based on the passing game he preaches.
Phil Parkinson (Bolton Wanderers)
Moving across the Pennines, Parkinson didn’t skip a beat as he led Bolton to the top of Sky Bet League One with 13 points from five unbeaten games. He was able to instil belief in a squad that was relegated just three months earlier.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
