Coleman had to lift the club on the pitch after the heartache of missing out on promotion on the final day of last season and subsequent player departures. He made light of a difficult fixture list to garner 11 points from five unbeaten games.
Steve Davis (Crewe Alexandra)
Davis has rewarded the faith of the Crewe board following relegation to steer Alex into the Sky Bet League Two promotion picture. September saw his side record three successive victories on their way to picking up 10 points from five games.
Paul Hurst (Grimsby Town)
Changing a winning side following promotion is a difficult task. Summer departures of key players forced Hurst to rebuild, but three wins and a draw from five games in just his second month as an EFL manager is a notable achievement.
