The highlight of the day's Sky Bet League One action came at Valley Parade in the Yorkshire Derby between Bradford City and Sheffield United, where the sides battled out a 3-3 draw.

Billy Sharp twice gave the Blades the lead but the second-placed Bantams fought back and eventually went in front themselves.

But Chris Basham converted from a Jon Fleck corner to ensure the visitors claimed a point, and Chris Wilder's men moved up to third in the standings as a result.

Table-topping Scunthorpe won 3-0 away at lowly Chesterfield, with the EFL's leading scorer Josh Morris getting his 13th goal of the season as the Iron notched a second-half treble.

Bristol Rovers and AFC Wimbledon are fifth and sixth respectively as both picked up triumphs on the road, at Oldham Athletic and Peterborough United.

Elsewhere, Port Vale found themselves down by two goals at the break, but strikes from Regino Cecilia and debutant Ryan Taylor earned the Valiants a draw against Oxford United, although they still dropped to seventh.

At the other end of the table, it's now two victories in a week for Coventry City - the Sky Blues defeated Rochdale 2-0 at the Ricoh Arena to climb up to 21st.

Managerless Shrewsbury Town remain bottom of the division after they suffered a 4-2 reverse at the hands of Northampton Town.

Plymouth remain top of Sky Bet League Two after heaping more misery on the struggling Newport County.

The Pilgrims eased to a 3-1 victory at Rodney Parade, with Graham Carey scoring twice from the penalty spot, and that left them four points clear at the top, while County are seven from safety at the bottom.

The EFL's only unbeaten side, Carlisle, continued their fine run on their travels against Stevenage. Jason Kennedy and Danny Grainger got the goals for the second-placed Cumbrians as they won 2-1.

Doncaster Rovers are third but lost ground on the top two after a 4-2 defeat at Blackpool, where Brad Potts hit a double for the Tangerines to earn them their second win in five outings.

Luton are fourth and drew against mid-table Mansfield Town, while Notts County are up to sixth following a 2-1 victory over fifth-placed Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

Barnet earned their first win in six games as they defeated fellow strugglers Wycombe Wanderers on the road to move above them in the standings. John Akinde's 93rd-minute goal sealed the win, and it was the striker's 17th in 20 appearances for the Bees.

Another London club also enjoyed success, as Leyton Orient notched their first victory under the guidance of Alberto Cavasin, winning 3-1 at Hartlepool United.

In another of the day's many away victories, Yeovil Town picked up their third 1-0 win in as many games, at Crewe Alexandra, thanks to Matt Dolan's second-half goal.
