Sky Bet EFL: Matchday round-up

16 October 2016

Norwich City moved above Huddersfield Town and to the top of the Sky Bet Championship on Matchday 12.

The Canaries took pole position courtesy of a 3-1 win over Rotherham, a scoreline which was matched by Newcastle, who also climbed above the Terriers.

Alex Neil's men maintained their position at the summit after Huddersfield saw their 100 per cent home record ended on Sunday, as Sheffield Wednesday stole all three points thanks to a Fernando Forestieri penalty.

Goalless stalemates occurred at Ewood Park and the DW Stadium, with Blackburn and Wigan being respectively held by Ipswich and Burton.

That wasn't the case at Oakwell, where Fulham came from behind twice to eventually overcome Barnsley 4-2.

Neil Warnock made a winning start to his Cardiff career on Friday night, and Steve McClaren followed suit by guiding Derby to a 1-0 win over Leeds. Steve Bruce couldn't match the pair, as Aston Villa shared the spoils with Wolves.

QPR and Reading also drew 1-1, while Preston snatched a late point at Brighton, drawing 2-2.
