Managers: Murray and Slade depart – updated EFL managers table

15 November 2016

Adam Murray and Russell Slade parted ways with Mansfield Town and Charlton Athletic respectively on Monday as the latest managerial departures in the EFL.

Murray's decision to leave the Sky Bet League Two Stags brought his 14-year association with the club to an end, having represented them as a player before making the transition to the dugout.

He leaves Field Mill with the team sitting 18th in League Two, and on a run of only one victory in 11.

Chairman John Radford told mansfieldtown.net: “I’ve worked with Adam for a long time and respect him immensely.

“The decision by Adam to part ways was made with a very heavy heart.

“Adam will always be in Mansfield Town’s hall of fame. He has served the club magnificently as both a player and for almost two years, a manager, and I sincerely wish him well for the future.”

Slade, meanwhile, parted ways with Charlton after less than six months in the job.

The 56-year-old's departure comes after a 3-0 reverse at the hands of Swindon Town, which left the Addicks sitting 15th in Sky Bet League One.

A statement on cafc.co.uk read: “The club would like to thank Russell for his tireless work during his time at The Valley, particularly the processes and disciplines he has instilled at the training ground, and wishes him well for the future.”
