Sky Bet Play-Offs: Hull City book Wembley place after uncomfortable night

17 May 2016

It was an uncomfortable night for Hull City but they booked their place in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final after a 3-2 aggregate win over Derby County.

The Tigers went into the second leg possessing a 3-0 advantage but were made to work for their Wembley berth with the Rams pushing them all the way, winning 2-0 on the night.

Johnny Russell opened the scoring from close range in the seventh minute, before Andrew Robertson turned into his own 10 minutes before the break.

The visitors huffed and puffed in the second half but couldn’t find a way through for a leveller, meaning Hull advance to Wembley for an all-Yorkshire final against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday 28th May.
