Sky Bet Play-Offs: AFC Wimbledon fight back to book Wembley trip

19 May 2016

AFC Wimbledon will face Plymouth Argyle in the Sky Bet League 2 Final after overcoming Accrington Stanley on Thursday night.

The Dons carried a one-goal advantage into the second leg following Tom Beere’s late winner at Kingsmeadow, but a Josh Windass penalty before the break levelled things up for Accrington.

A superb strike from Piero Mingoia put Stanley in front on the hour, but half-time substitute Adebayo Akinfenwa headed home just eight minutes later to square the tie up at 2-2.

That took the game to extra-time, where Lyle Taylor pounced in the 104th minute to book the Dons a maiden trip to Wembley.
