Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month nominations - April

5 May 2016

The nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for April.

Michael Keane (Burnley)

The heartbeat of a Burnley defence which conceded just four goals in six games. His strength in the air was evident at both ends of the pitch with two late headed equalisers securing priceless draws against rivals Brighton and Middlesbrough.

Anthony Knockaert (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Provided invention and spark to a Brighton attack which scored 18 goals in six April games. A livewire who loves to take on and beat defenders, he had four assists and four goals, which included a lovely curling finish against Fulham.

Scott Hogan (Brentford)

Having missed 19 months with two cruciate ligament injuries, the 24-year-old was restricted to just 93 minutes on the pitch in April across five games, but five goals, which helped secure seven points, proved that his predatory instincts are still there.

Johnny Russell (Derby County)

The catalyst who triggered his side’s return to form in a month in which he contributed four goals, including two towering headers. Difficult for defenders to mark, the 26-year-old is likely to pop up anywhere across the front line.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
