Final Third Development League Digest

Notts County were crowned East Division champions in what was a goal-filled week of Final Third Development League action.

Here’s a round-up of this week’s matches:

Final Third Development League - East Division

Notts County knew a point would be enough to secure the East Division title and they cruised home in style by beating Gateshead 4-0.

Montel Gibson provided a goal and an assist in the first half to set the Magpies on their way, and they added two more goals in the second 45 minutes to be crowned champions ahead of second-placed Chesterfield.

Elsewhere, Doncaster Rovers and Gateshead shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Final Third Development League - West Division

It was goals galore in the West Division as Wigan Athletic blew Morecambe away with 10 goals.

Sam Cosgrove and Louis Robles hit hat-tricks, alongside strikes from James Barrigan, Josh Gregory, Matty Hamilton and Danny O'Brien, in a 10-0 triumph.

Elsewhere, champions Bradford City signed off in style by winning 3-1 against Burton Albion at St George’s Park with Mark Marshall scoring twice.

Final Third Development League - South Division

In the South, AFC Wimbledon ended their campaign on a high after Tom Beere netted a stunning 35-yard free-kick to guide them to a 1-0 victory against Southend United.
