Sky Bet League 2: Matchday 37 review

Bristol Rovers climbed into the automatic promotion places in Sky Bet League 2 after beating Newport County 4-1 in the early kick-off at Rodney Parade.

Three goals in the second half ensured Darrell Clarke's side climbed above Plymouth Argyle, who suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Luton Town.

League leaders Northampton Town came from 2-0 down to beat Stevenage 3-2, while Oxford United convincingly beat Barnet 3-0 at The Hive.

Ben Williamson scored twice to help Cambridge United beat Yeovil Town 3-0 but Morecambe were less fortunate, losing 1-0 at Leyton Orient.

AFC Wimbledon found the net in the third minute of stoppage time to beat York City 2-1, and the Minstermen are now seven points from safety.  Dagenham & Redbridge are two points further back after losing at home 1-0 to Accrington Stanley.

Elsewhere, Carlisle United drew 1-1 with Wycombe Wanderers, Crawley Town drew a blank with Hartlepool United and Mansfield Town shared the points with Portsmouth.

There was managerial news at Meadow Lane, where Jamie Fullarton parted company with Notts County after they suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of Exeter City.
