Sky Bet League 2: Matchday 36 preview

11 March 2016

There's a full schedule of games taking place in Sky Bet League 2 on Matchday 36 with two of the bottom three sides clashing at Victoria Park.

Dagenham & Redbridge, unbeaten in three, prop up the table but could close the gap on opponents Hartlepool United this weekend.

Pools are currently five points clear of safety after picking up three points in midweek, and York City - currently 23rd - host a Barnet side who haven't suffered defeat on the road since early January.

Here's a full list of Sky Bet League 2 matches taking place on Matchday 36, all games are 3pm kick-offs unless otherwise stated:

Saturday 12th March

Accrington Stanley v Plymouth Argyle
Bristol Rovers v Mansfield Town
Exeter City v Carlisle United
Hartlepool v Dagenham & Redbridge
Luton Town v Crawley Town
Morecambe v AFC Wimbledon
Northampton Town v Cambridge United
Oxford United v Leyton Orient
Portsmouth v Newport County
Wycombe Wanderers v Stevenage
Yeovil Town v Notts County
York City v Barnet

Northampton Town, who are 13 points clear at the summit, welcome Cambridge United to Sixfields in Matchday 36. Chris Wilder's Cobblers are 14 matches unbeaten, and the manager was rewarded for their fine form with a second successive Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month award.

Second-placed Oxford are at home to Leyton Orient, who sit outside the Play-Off places on goal difference alone, while Plymouth make the long trip to Accrington in a battle between third and sixth.

Promotion hopefuls Stanley slipped down the table after a midweek loss to Portsmouth, and Paul Cook's Pompey host Newport this weekend as they bid to extend their unbeaten run to five games.

Bristol Rovers, who have won three in a row and sit fifth in the table, lock horns with Mansfield Town at the Memorial Stadium. The Stags have won just once in their last five outings but remain two points shy of a top-seven place ahead of their trip to the West Country. The other team in the Play-Off positions are AFC Wimbledon, and their task is a trip to a Morecambe side without a league victory since 16th January.

Four wins in a row has seen Luton quietly march up the table and they welcome Crawley - fresh from their recent takeover - to Kenilworth Road. Another form team are Yeovil, who have moved clear of the bottom two following five unbeaten games, and the Glovers face Notts County, who have incidentally gone five games without tasting success.

Elsewhere, Wycombe play host to Stevenage and Carlisle travel down the country to take on Exeter.
