Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 37 review

19 March 2016

Blackpool moved out of the Sky Bet League 1 relegation places on matchday 37 after beating Crewe Alexandra.

Jack Redshaw and Tom Aldred scored the goals to help the Tangerines move above Doncaster Rovers in the league table, after Darren Ferguson's men suffered a late 2-1 defeat to Peterborough United at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Crewe are now eight points from safety with nine games to play, two points above Colchester United, who lost 2-1 at Walsall having been a goal up with two minutes to play.

Leaders Burton Albion secured a convincing 4-0 win over Port Vale with two goals in either half. Fellow promotion-chasers Wigan Athletic beat Bradford City 1-0, while Barnsley overcame Fleetwood Town 2-0 at Highbury.

Gillingham drew 1-1 with Southend at Roots Hall with Luke Norris grabbing a second half equaliser, while Chris Taylor's second-minute goal for Millwall was enough to see them beat Sheffield United 1-0 at the Den.

Rochdale defeated Oldham Athletic 3-2 at Boundary Park and the points were shared at Gigg Lane where Bury drew 2-2 with Shrewsbury Town.

Elsewhere, Coventry City drew 0-0 with Swindon Town and Scunthorpe United shared the spoils with Chesterfield.
