Sky Bet Football League midweek preview

8 March 2016

There's another busy midweek schedule coming up in The Football League this week with big games at both ends of the Sky Bet Championship table.

Here's a look at the matches being played, all of which are 7.45pm kick-offs unless otherwise stated:

Tuesday 8th March

Sky Bet Championship

Blackburn Rovers v Birmingham City
Brighton & Hove Albion v Sheffield Wednesday
Cardiff City v Leeds United
Charlton Athletic v Milton Keynes Dons
Fulham v Burnley
Huddersfield Town v Reading
Nottingham Forest v Preston North End
Queens Park Rangers v Derby County
Rotherham United v Middlesbrough
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Bristol City
Bolton Wanderers v Ipswich Town (8pm)

Sky Bet League 1

Bradford City v Burton Albion
Scunthorpe United v Doncaster Rovers
Shrewsbury Town v Coventry City

Sky Bet League 2

Accrington Stanley v Portsmouth
Bristol Rovers v AFC Wimbledon
Dagenham & Redbridge v Carlisle United
Newport County v Barnet

Two promotion hopefuls in the Sky Bet Championship meet at the Amex Stadium, where Brighton & Hove Albion take on a Sheffield Wednesday side who are without a win in their last four.

League leaders Burnley travel to Fulham knowing that anything less than a win could see Middlesbrough leapfrog them at the summit if they beat Rotherham United.

Hull City are not in action so Derby County could move to within a point of the Tigers if they win against Queens Park Rangers. Birmingham City, just outside the top six, play Blackburn Rovers.

Towards the foot of the table two of the bottom four collide at the Valley where Charlton Athletic play Milton Keynes Dons.

Relegation-threatened Bolton Wanderers, who are 10 points from safety, entertain an Ipswich Town side who could move into the top six with victory.

In Sky Bet League 1, leaders Burton Albion travel to Bradford City with the opportunity to extend their advantage at the summit to seven points.

Doncaster Rovers, without a win in any competition since the first week of January, travel to Scunthorpe while Shrewsbury Town play Coventry City.

In Sky Bet League 2, all four teams currently in the Play-Offs collide as Accrington Stanley play Portsmouth and AFC Wimbledon travel to Bristol Rovers.

Dagenham & Redbridge have the chance to secure their second successive home win when they play Carlisle United - days after winning at home for the first time since April 2015 - while Newport County play Barnet.
