Sky Bet Championship: Matchday 38 preview

18 March 2016

The weekend's action begins with a huge clash at the top of the table as Middlesbrough take on Hull City in a live Sky Sports fixture on Friday evening.

Both sides can reduce the gap to leaders Burnley, who are currently six points clear of nearest challengers Brighton & Hove Albion.

Middlesbrough only need to avoid defeat to go above the Seagulls into second place, while Hull need maximum points to regain an automatic promotion position.

Here's a full list of Sky Bet Championship fixtures taking place on Matchday 38 - kick-offs are 3pm unless otherwise stated:

Friday 18th March

Middlesbrough v Hull City (7:45pm)

Saturday 19th March

Derby County v Nottingham Forest (12:30pm)
Birmingham City v Fulham
Brentford v Blackburn Rovers
Bristol City v Bolton Wanderers
Burnley v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Ipswich Town v Rotherham United
Leeds United v Huddersfield Town
Milton Keynes Dons v Brighton & Hove Albion
Preston North End v Queens Park Rangers
Reading v Cardiff City
Sheffield Wednesday v Charlton Athletic

In the early kick-off on Saturday, there's a big game at the iPro Stadium when Derby County take on Nottingham Forest.

The Rams can consolidate their position in the Play-Offs with victory, while the visitors will be determined to record a derby double having won the reverse fixture 1-0 in November.

Sheffield Wednesday round out the top six as things stand, and they entertain Charlton Athletic, who are unbeaten in their last three.

Bottom side Bolton Wanderers, who are without a win in seven, travel to Bristol City, who are four points clear of the relegation places.

Rotherham United, unbeaten in their last four under new manager Neil Warnock, travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town, who are just one point adrift of the Play-Off places.

Cardiff City are above Mick McCarthy's side by virtue of a superior goal difference, and they travel to Reading, who are without a win in four.

Elsewhere, Birmingham City play Fulham, Brentford come up against Blackburn Rovers, Leeds United face Huddersfield Town and Preston North End entertain Queens Park Rangers at Deepdale.
