The Dons beat Queens Park Rangers 2-0, Charlton defeated Brentford 2-1 at Griffin Park, while Neil Warnock’s Rotherham came out on top in the Yorkshire derby against Sheffield Wednesday, winning 1-0 at Hillsborough.
Cardiff City moved level on points with the Owls after their early 2-0 win at Bristol City. Elsewhere, Ipswich Town beat Nottingham Forest 1-0, Leeds United overcame Bolton Wanderers 2-1 at Elland Road and Reading drew 2-2 with Fulham.
