Final Third Development League Digest

Here's a round-up of all the Final Third Development League matches played since 3rd March.

Final Third Development League - East

Chesterfield moved up to second in the East Division courtesy of a 2-0 triumph over Scunthorpe United.

The Spireites scored a goal in either half, through Liam Graham and Laurence Maguire, and the result moved them five points off top spot with two games in hand over leaders Notts County.

Final Third Development League - South

The week's two games in the South Division both ended level with a 1-1 scoreline.

Cambridge United and Gillingham shared the points, as did Southend and Bournemouth, who are the top two in the division.

Bournemouth remain top but Southend trail by only five points, with two games in hand.

Final Third Development League - West

Morecambe recorded their first win of this season's West division by beating high-flying Walsall.

The Saddlers could have moved to the summit with three points, but the Shrimps took the spoils courtesy of a 2-0 victory.

Shrewsbury Town remain top of the pile after they drew 0-0 with Wigan Athletic.

Final Third Development Leaqgue Cup Semi-Final - North

Stoke City negotiated their way to the Final Third Development League Cup North Final after a 2-1 success over Notts County.

Mason Watkins-Clark and Dominic Telford put the Potters 2-0 to the good, but a Genaro Snijders goal after the break made the hosts work hard for their victory, which they secured to advance to the final.
