The 2016 UEFA European Championships begin on Friday 10th June, and the EFL will be well represented during this summer's tournament.
The European Championships are fast approaching and a number of EFL players will be heading to France this week to compete in the tournament.Northern Ireland are making their first appearance at an international tournament – which kicks off on Friday 10th June – since 1986, and 13 of their 23 players were plying their trade in the EFL in 2015/16.
Wigan Athletic's Will Grigg is expected to lead the line for Michael O'Neill's men after helping the Latics claim the Sky Bet League One crown. If only there was some way of describing his recent form in front of goal...
Republic Ireland are next, with 10 EFL players on show. Derby County have three players in the Irish squad with Cyrus Christie, Jeff Hendrick and Richard Keogh all selected by Martin O'Neill.
Four Reading players are going to Euro 2016, and two of those will join up with a Wales squad which includes nine Sky Bet Championship players, one of which is title-winning Burnley striker Sam Vokes.
Vokes' club-mate Tom Heaton will also make the trip to the Euros, following a superb year which saw the Clarets captain named in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season and make his international bow. Now, he'll head across the channel with England to provide competition to Joe Hart and Fraser Forster.
Daniel Pudil and Jiri Skalak went head-to-head in the Championship Play-Offs last month, but the two will now be fighting the same cause as they look to replicate the Czech Republic's triumph in this competition from 40 years ago.
Last but not least, Iceland are making their first ever appearance at a major tournament and will be led by Cardiff City's Aron Gunnarsson, while Charlton Athletic's Johann Berg Gudmundsson also joins the party.
