Sky Bet League 2: Matchday 29 Preview

29 January 2016

With Northampton Town not in action this weekend, Plymouth Argyle have the opportunity to return to the summit in Sky Bet League 2 on Matchday 29.

The Pilgrims are two points behind the Cobblers and entertain Wycombe Wanderers, who have dropped out of the Play-Off places and down to 10th following three successive defeats.

Meanwhile York City could move off the bottom of the table if they can take maximum points from their home match against Stevenage.

Here’s a look at all of the fixtures taking place this weekend in Sky Bet League 2, all kicking off at 3pm.

Saturday 30th January

Accrington Stanley v Bristol Rovers
AFC Wimbledon v Yeovil Town
Crawley Town v Mansfield Town
Hartlepool United v Exeter City
Leyton Orient v Cambridge United
Luton Town v Notts County
Morecambe v Newport County
Plymouth Argyle v Wycombe Wanderers
York City v Stevenage

With Oxford United not in action it gives both Bristol Rovers and Accrington Stanley the chance to close the gap to the automatic promotion places.

The two sides meet at the Crown Ground with Accrington having as many as four games in hand over the teams above them, including Rovers – who have lost just once in 10 outings.

Kevin Nolan can achieve a hat-trick of wins as Leyton Orient’s new player-manager – the O’s welcome Cambridge United to the Matchroom Stadium, who are four points shy of a Play-Off place.

AFC Wimbledon, unbeaten in their last six, host Yeovil Town who haven’t clinched a league win on the road since mid-October.

Exeter City face one of the longest journeys in the Football League as they make the 690-mile round trip to Hartlepool.

Elsewhere, Morecambe take on Newport County, Luton Town entertain Notts County and Crawley Town lock horns with Mansfield Town.
