Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 29 Preview

29 January 2016

There are seven fixtures in Sky Bet League 1 on Matchday 29, with league leaders Burton Albion straight back in action after a midweek win at Peterborough United.

Nigel Clough’s men travel to Rochdale – who suffered a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Barnsley last weekend – and could find themselves six points clear at the top, should Gillingham fail to take anything from their match against a Blackpool side unbeaten in three.

Here’s a full list of fixtures taking place in Sky Bet League 1 this weekend, all 3pm kick-offs.

Saturday 30th January

Blackpool v Gillingham
Bradford City v Fleetwood Town
Coventry City v Scunthorpe United
Millwall v Crewe Alexandra
Rochdale v Burton Albion
Swindon Town v Barnsley
Wigan Athletic v Port Vale

With Walsall not in action it gives both Wigan Athletic and Coventry City the chance to close the gap on third place.

Wigan, unbeaten in their last seven, welcome Port Vale to the DW Stadium while Coventry, who have won just twice in their last 10 league games, take on Scunthorpe United at the Ricoh Arena.

Millwall currently occupy the other Play-Off position in Sky Bet League 1 and they will record a fourth straight victory if they overcome Crewe Alexandra at the New Den.

Phil Parkinson’s Bradford remain in the promotion hunt and welcome Fleetwood Town to the Coral Windows Stadium this weekend, who would move out of the relegation places if they avoid defeat.

The other fixture in the division will see Barnsley, who have won five consecutive matches, travel to Swindon Town.

The Robins are also in good form though, having scored nine goals in their last three games and accumulating seven points in the process.
