Gillingham prevailed in the battle of The Football League’s highest goal scorers to go top in Sky Bet League 1.
The Gills, who began the day in third, came from behind to defeat Peterborough United 2-1 at MEMS Priestfield Stadium with midfield maestro Bradley Dack scoring the winner with his 14th goal of the season.Justin Edinburgh’s side took full advantage of results elsewhere with Burton Albion losing 2-1 at home to Shrewsbury Town, while Walsall drew 1-1 at home to Blackpool.
Fellow promotion hopefuls Coventry City also suffered defeat with Southend United winning 3-0 at Roots Hall.
However, the result of the day came from Oakwell where Barnsley, now unbeaten in five in all competitions, recorded a convincing 6-1 win over Rochdale, largely thanks to Sam Winnall's hat-trick.
That result saw the Tykes go five points clear of the Sky Bet League 1 relegation zone, which Shrewsbury Town escaped following their win over Burton Albion. They swap places with Fleetwood Town who drew 0-0 with Doncaster Rovers at Highbury.
Crewe Alexandra remain bottom despite a 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic, however they are only behind Oldham Athletic on goal difference as they lost 1-0 at home to Bury.
Millwall secured back-to-back league wins for the first time since October and moved into the Play-Off positions after beating Chesterfield 2-1 at the Proact Stadium.
Scunthorpe United sealed all three points with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Colchester United with Paddy Madden striking twice at Glanford Park.
Elsewhere Port Vale drew 1-1 with Bradford, while Sheffield United were also held to a 1-1 draw by Swindon Town.
