Blackpool boss Neil McDonald hailed his side's performance as their best of the season following a 5-0 win over Scunthorpe United on Saturday. The Seasiders were three up inside 28 minutes at Bloomfield Road thanks to Tom Aldred and a brace from midfielder Brad Potts, and their dominance continued after the interval.
David Norris and Danny Philliskirk added to the scoring in the second half to clinch the club's first win of 2016.
Speaking after the game, McDonald said: "That's definitely the best we've played, attacking-wise and defensively. I thought we looked really solid and it was vitally important that we kept a clean sheet as well.
"We started off with a tempo that Scunthorpe couldn't keep to, and when the chances came along we put them in the back of the net."
