Stoke City and Liverpool kick-off the Capital One Cup Semi-Final first legs at the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday, knowing a trip to Wembley is just two games away.
The hosts have reached the last-four stage for the first time since lifting the trophy back in 1972, while Liverpool are back for the second time in as many seasons, and have beaten the Potters en route to two of their last three League Cup titles.Reds dominate competition history
If Stoke are to reach the Capital One Cup Final on 28th February, they'll have to beat eight-time winners Liverpool for the first time in the competition.
Never have the Potters prevailed against the Reds in League Cup history, with four wins and a draw taking place in their five meetings.
The most recent of those was in 2011, where a Luis Suarez double cancelled out a Kenwyne Jones opener for Stoke. Liverpool went on to hoist the trophy that season, beating Cardiff City on penalties in the Final.
Another notable tie between the pair came in November 2000, when Premier League Liverpool triumphed 8-0 at a Second Division Stoke side. Christian Ziege, Vladimir Smicer, Markus Babbel, Sami Hyypia and Danny Murphy all netted alongside Robbie Fowler's hat-trick that night.

Played for both - Charlie Adam and Glen Johnson
Two Stoke players who could line-up against their former club on Tuesday are Charlie Adam and Glen Johnson.
The duo were part of the successful 2011/12 side that lifted the Cup, with both stepping up to take spot-kicks in the decisive penalty shootout against Cardiff.
Their fortunes altered in front of goal, however, as Adam put his effort over the bar, while Johnson slotted what would prove to be the winning penalty.
